1About these terms

1.1These terms apply when you use GiftEasy. That covers our website, our iOS and Android apps, our WhatsApp bot, and the GiftEasy apps in ChatGPT and Claude.

1.2By creating an account or using GiftEasy, you agree to these terms. Please read them. Our privacy policy explains how we use your data.

1.3If you're a partner, the Partner Programme terms also apply.

2What GiftEasy is, and isn't

2.1GiftEasy helps you:

• save things you want;
• plan gifts for the people you buy for;
• get gift ideas;
• share lists;
• reserve gifts;
• chip in on group gifts.

2.2We don't sell anything. When you buy, you buy from the shop. Your contract for the product is with the shop. Delivery, returns, refunds and faults are the shop's responsibility, under the shop's terms and your consumer rights against the shop.

2.3We earn from shop links. When you buy through our links, the shop pays us a commission. You pay the same price. See How GiftEasy makes money.

2.4GiftEasy is free. We'll tell you before we ever charge for anything.

3Who can use GiftEasy

3.1You must be 13 or over to have an account.

3.2If you're 13–17, some features work differently to keep you safe and private (see our privacy policy). For example, your gift suggestions aren't personalised unless you switch that on. Please make sure a parent or carer knows you're using GiftEasy.

3.3Under-13s cannot have an account. A parent or carer can create and manage a list for their child from the parent's own account. The parent is responsible for that list.

3.4You must give your true age. If we have reason to think you're under 13, we'll close the account.

3.5You must not use GiftEasy if the law forbids it where you live.

4Your account

4.1You can sign in with an email link, Google or Apple. You can link a phone number for WhatsApp. It's one account across all channels.

4.2Keep your sign-in details safe. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account.

4.3You can close your account at any time in settings.

5Lists, sharing and reservations

5.1Link-only by default. A list can be seen only by people with its link, unless you make it public or invite-only. 13–17s can't make public lists.

5.2Public lists can be seen by anyone and found by search engines.

5.3Reservations are hidden from the list owner by default, to keep the surprise. The owner can choose to see them. A reservation is a helpful note, not a promise. We're not responsible if two people buy the same thing.

5.4Prices and stock come from shops and networks, or from the shop page when you added the item. They can be out of date. Always check the shop's site before you buy.

5.5"Also at" suggestions. If we can't earn from a link you added, we may show the same product at another shop. We try hard to match the exact item, but we can get it wrong. Check before you buy. Your original link always stays. You can tick "this shop only" to hide suggestions.

5.6Amazon items may show less detail (no image or price) because of Amazon's rules.

6People you buy for

6.1You can create private profiles for people you buy for.

6.2Only add what you need for gift ideas: a nickname, an age band, interests, sizes.

6.3Don't add sensitive details, such as health, religion or sexuality, or anything the person would not want shared.

6.4Only invite people who'd be happy to hear from GiftEasy.

7Gift ideas and AI

7.1GiftEasy uses AI to suggest gifts, lay out your screens, write suggested card messages and read product details.

7.2Commission never changes which gift ideas we show, or their order. If the same item is cheaper at another shop, we show the cheaper shop first.

7.3AI can get things wrong. Suggestions are ideas, not advice. You decide what to buy and what to write.

7.4You're responsible for any card message you send.

7.5Don't use GiftEasy's AI to create anything unlawful, harmful or misleading.

8Group gifts

8.1A group gift lets people chip in for one item.

8.2Payments go through Stripe. The organiser gets a Stripe account and contributors pay into it. GiftEasy never holds the money. Stripe's terms apply to organisers and contributors.

8.3Organisers must:

• pass Stripe's checks;
• use the money only to buy the gift;
• buy it within [period];
• keep contributors informed;
• refund contributors if the gift isn't bought.

8.4Card fees are added to each contribution and shown before you pay. GiftEasy charges no fee.

8.513–17s can contribute only through a parent's account.

8.6Disputes about a group gift are between the organiser and contributors, and with Stripe for payment issues. We'll help where we can.

9Your content

9.1"Your content" means anything you add: lists, notes, items, photos, voice notes and messages.

9.2You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process and display it so we can run GiftEasy. For public lists, the licence also covers showing them to anyone. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups kept for [period] and anything already shared with others.

9.3You must not add content that:

• is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexual or violent;
• infringes anyone's rights;
• is spam or misleading.

9.4We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these terms. You can report a list to [report contact].

10Rules for using GiftEasy

You must not:

• scrape, copy or harvest GiftEasy content or other users' data;
• interfere with GiftEasy, or try to get around our security or limits;
• use GiftEasy to send spam;
• create fake accounts, or impersonate anyone;
• misuse reservations, group gifts or the partner programme;
• use bots to sign up, click or buy.

11Other sites and services

11.1GiftEasy links to shops and other sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them.

11.2WhatsApp, ChatGPT, Claude, Google, Apple and Stripe have their own terms, which also apply when you use GiftEasy through them.

12Our responsibility to you

12.1UK consumers. We provide GiftEasy with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

12.2We are not liable for losses we couldn't reasonably foresee, for business losses, or for what shops or other services do.

12.3Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit.

13Suspending or closing accounts

13.1We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or where the law requires it. Where we can, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it.

13.2We may change or stop features. If we close GiftEasy, we'll give you at least [30] days' notice so you can download your data.

14Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll tell you about important changes before they take effect. If you keep using GiftEasy after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can close your account.

15Law and disputes

15.1UK users. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring claims in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also use your local courts.
